ELISABETH SABADITSCH-WOLFF
was always a rebel.
But to come to where she is,
her life fighting for freedom,
has been a journey with many stages.

Elisabeth Sabaditsch-Wolff does not look like a typical rebel. But looking back, she sees that, over and over, she did not comply when the rules felt wrong. That led to her choosing to comfort a good friend rather than taking an exam she would have aced. That led to her facing what she learned about and that horrified her - such as Mohammed's marriage to a 6-year-old and consummating the marriage when the child was 9.

The journey has been a long one. For many years, she believed the struggle was against Sharia.

It's a much bigger struggle, she knows now. Sharia is just one of the forces against freedom.

Her hardest times have, in fact, come during the past few years.
